The Tetsuo & Youth Tour (otherwise known as the Testsuo & Youth Preview Tour) was a headline concert tour by Lupe Fiasco across North America. It began at the University of North Florida on November 1, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida, and concluded at Rams Head Live on December 15, 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland.

In a statement, he shared, "I'm looking forward to going back on the road and sharing the new music I've been working on with my fans. This will be just a taste of Tetsuo & Youth."[1]

Background[]

In contrast to his previous tours, there was no live backing band. According to The Province, he explained, "This time we are going at it strictly old school. Two turntables and a microphone and a massive screen, of course. It made sense to go out that way to get a chance to break out the music from Lasers & Food & Music 2 which really had very limited live exposure as well as previewing the coming album. Call it market research."[2]

Despite it being a "preview" tour, the only songs associated with the record were "Crack" and "Law." Complex noted the nostalgia of the New York concert, and added, "we're murmuring satisfied by the run of our favorite Lupe cuts and verses. Still, none of us are sure what the hell Tetsuo is all about. No idea whether Lupe Fiasco is coming or going."[3]

At the Salt Lake City show on November 26, one of the people from the East balcony threw a tomato at him. Fiasco, once identifying the person in the crowd, called them a "fat, white bitch." The venue's security intervened to search for the offender, and Fiasco wanted the balconies to be cleared, which caused several people to flip him off or swear, and remain standing. While most of those in the balcony were brought down by Depot's staff, a few individuals in the area refused to move, and Fiasco walked off stage, which was close to the expected time it would end. Later on Twitter, people had mixed feelings, where some supported the rapper, while others disapproved of the offensive language used.[4] Fiasco reportedly addressed in a series of tweets, "Safety first...bitch threw some shit...I asked the balcony to come down to the floor...they said fuck me...so shows over...#SaltyLake hahaha," "I call her a 'fat white bitch' cuz she was a fat white bitch...once you throw things you become a bitch...who just happens to be fat & white," and "The show was cancelled cuz when I asked for the balcony to be cleared just in case it was other snipers I got middle fingers so on 2 #Denver."[5][6] Vibe summarized, "Apparently, someone from the top balcony decided to hurl a tomato at Lupe during his performance. Lupe immediately stopped the music and pointed out who he thought it was [...] Then he demanded that everyone in her section leave the area or else he wouldn't perform any more. The fans didn't budge, and the show abruptly ended."[7]
