"Lupe Talks to the People" is a song by American rapper Lupe Fiasco. It was released as the eighth track and first interlude from his mixtape, Touch the Sky (2006). Fiasco remarks on him being featured on the front cover of The Fader, even without an album out.
Lyrics[]
Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's the Touch the Sky jump off, you know what I'm sayin'?
Lupe Fiasco, DJ E.Nyce mixtape, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout?
It's how we do it, Chi-Town in a place to be
You know what I'm sayin'?
If you ain't heard or you ain't seen it, crazy on the streets
No album out, you know what I'm sayin'?
No none of that, no records sold of my own
No none of that, got the cover of Fader
You know what I'm sayin'?
I got on Fader baby, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout?
The real cover, not the back cover, not the Japanese cover, the front cover, you know what I'm sayin'?
In Japan it would've been different, I would've had the front cover
But since we in the States, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout?
I got that good 'ole front cover, shout-out to my people at Fader
You know what I'm sayin'?
But that's how it goes down when you grind
You do what you do, you know what I'm sayin'?
They hit you with that, no album, no none of that
But you know how it goes down, it's already good, you know what I'm sayin'?
Lupe Fiasco, my man DJ E.Nyce, yessir!
