The following are vehicles American rapper Lupe Fiasco has owned or made an appearance in his music. He mentioned to Dub, "I'm big into cars and car culture—from understanding, studying, driving and researching everything in the automotive world." One of the rapper's alter egos is Carrera Lu, where he explained, "I love Carrera Porsches, so I was like yo, like Carrera, I'mma be Carrera Lu. I needed an alter ego, you know what I'm saying? Somebody flashy, fly-the whole thing. And that's who Carrera Lu is; the anti Lupe Fiasco."[1] A vehicle chiefly associated with Fiasco in the 2000s was the skateboard, where his song "Kick, Push" has held cultural significance in hip hop. Aaron William of Uproxx penned, "Lupe was part of a vanguard of Black artists who changed that, providing representation for those outsiders and throwing open the doors of possibility for generations after."[2]
In an interview with GQ, Fiasco named his 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe to be in his top ten essentials, mainly for his love of car racing.[3] The Shelby became the first American constructor to win an international championship in 1965. Fiasco watches auto racing, like NASCAR and IndyCar. On October 13, 2011, he performed at the 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championships Kick-off Party.[4] On October 16, 2011, motor racing driver Dan Wheldon died at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a 15-car pileup during Indy300. Fiasco tweeted out, "My heart goes out the entire @indycar family and the family of Dan Wheldon #77 and his team. May God have mercy."[5] In June 2023, he performed at Bubba's Block Party in its second annual year, which promoted the forthcoming inaugural NASCAR Chicago Street Race that weekend.[6]
