"Fighters" is a song by Lupe Fiasco, released as the 18th track from his sophomore album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. It features guest vocals from Matthew Santos.
The song is inspired by loss of loved ones, including his grandmother and father, where Fiasco said, "I knew I had to write it, but I got all choked up. Talking to yourself, having some therapy with yourself—it was the hardest record to write because of the emotions. This wound is fresh. I couldn't even let my little sisters hear the song. It would come on in the car and I would just cut it off."[1] On the track, he also gives a shout-out to Bishop G, the fans, and mentions his at-the-time planned to be last album, LupEND.
